Can you have laser hair removal in summer?

The approaching summer increases interest in this treatment at my clinic. I understand that traditional hair removal methods are a nuisance in summer, and a laser can solve that. Here is my advice on when it is best to start laser hair removal and whether it makes sense during intense sunbathing.

A fresh tan is one of the main reasons why laser hair removal should not be performed. Whether obtained naturally or on a sunbed, it is a risk. You must not tan for at least a month before the planned treatment, to avoid uneven pigmentation and increased skin sensitivity. After the treatment, for about two weeks, you absolutely must avoid the sun, because combined with the laser it can lead to pigmentation, irritation and even burns. High-SPF sunscreen is essential after laser treatments to protect the treated areas from harmful radiation. Laser hair removal in summer is possible, because it is a series of sessions spread over time, but it requires a very responsible approach to the aftercare advice so that the treatment is safe and effective.
