Radiofrequency (RF) therapy, also known as RF thermolifting, is an effective skin rejuvenation method that reduces even deep wrinkles caused by ageing. The treatment gives visible rejuvenation of mature skin, and used before the age of 30 it works as anti-ageing prevention.
Indications for radiofrequency treatment of wrinkles:
The treatment is particularly recommended for:
- Expression lines, including “crow’s feet”.
- Clearly defined expression lines.
- Gravitational wrinkles.
- Marionette lines.
- Forehead lines (horizontal and vertical, e.g. frown lines).
- Bunny lines.
How do radio waves work on the skin?
RF thermolifting works by heating the tissue in a controlled way, which causes the weakened collagen fibres to contract. The high temperature also stimulates faster production of new collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, and activates the stem cells of the dermis.
As a result of these processes:
- Collagen fibres rebuild and strengthen.
- Blood microcirculation and cell metabolism improve.
- The skin becomes denser.
- The skin is cleansed of toxins.
Contraindications to radiofrequency treatment of the face:
Despite its high effectiveness, there are some contraindications:
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
- Cancer.
- Heart disease.
- Some dermatological diseases.
- Active skin inflammation.
- Epilepsy.
- Burns.
- Unregulated hormonal disorders.
- Uncontrolled diabetes.
